The Vaults of the Insurgency. Just what are they? Anomalies? Artificial constructs? Slivers of other worlds intersecting with ours?
Have they always been there, or were they created? Are they even real?
Why yes, of course they are. What SCP-2000 and DEEPWELL are to the Foundation, what Ganzir and the Anchor Cities are to the GOC… the Vaults are to the Chaos Insurgency.
Places, hidden, no, detached from the ever shifting world and the relentlessly ticking clocks of baseline time. Abnormalities fit to survive cataclysm after cataclysm, to retain memories that should have never been.
Some say the Vaults are even older than the Haos Doctrine, but don't say that out loud. Others say the Doctrine is nothing but a memetic Vault, meant to be lost and rediscovered over the aeons of our struggle.
In the end, does it really matter? Once you arrived at the Point, there is only one meaningful choice: Enter through the Gate, or leave to live in ignorance?

Each of the Vaults is structured the same way:
- There is one or multiple Points. These are access points. They might be mobile, intangible or entirely independent of spatial criteria whatsoever.
- There is the Gate. This is how you enter or trigger. They might be physical openings, rituals or anything else that keeps the real world from spilling over.
- There is the Overseer. They might be technically nothing more than a site director, but they have seen the world end over and over again, and all have the flaming fervour in them to will the Insurgency back time after time.
Some Vaults have old Designations. Were they normal Items before their value was discovered. Or SCPs? Something different entirely?
Wherever possible, the Vaults are staffed and being used for other purposes as well. Waste not want not.
Partially redundant — a single failure may impact, but not prevent Insu recovery.

Habitation
The Vaults (except for CAPRICORN, ARIES and LEO) feature a completely self-sufficient and -reliant colony of Insurgents. Being fully autarkic, they can remain a stable population within the closed cycle indefinitely, and often do so.
The space required for agriculture, storage and production is far out-numbering that required for housing and sanitary/military installations. Except for the Isolation from the outside world, living within a Vault is actually quite comfortable… if you don't stray into the wrong parts.
Sequence
Once Vault-SAGITTARIUS confirms cessation of Insurgency activity, Vault-AQUARIUS is tasked with activating the other Vaults and commanding them to enter rebuild mode.
Vault-SCORPIO uses the intelligence provided by Vault-SAGITTARIUS in combinations with its own databases to analyse the best course of action.
Should the current state be the result of an earlier prevention failure involving Vault-LEO, Vault-GEMINI might be capable of neutralizing the remaining threat.
Vault-TAURUS ensures transportation between the Vaults, no matter if Earth itself became untraversable, or even if a breakdown of the physics prevents movement in physical 3-Space.
Required Human Resources to staff the rebuilding efforts are provided by Vault-VIRGO; Vault-CANCER ensures the necessary fervour in them, which also allows for rapid construction of potentially needed facilities.
Vault-PISCES is able to neutralize most hazardous anomalous effect; things that can not be restored may be moved to Vault-ARIES.
Vault-LIBRA has the alone oversight over the other Vaults and will ensure that the rebuild Insurgency follows the ideals of its precursor.
Upon restoration of the Insurgency, Vault-OPHIUCHUS will provide the igniting spark. Vault-GEMINI may additionally employ global-scale effects in order to aid Vault-OPHIUCHUS in rewriting history.
In case of temporal anomalies, Vault-VIRGO acts as a "safespot" to reset the world to.
All veto power lies with Vault-CAPRICORN.
Overseers
A man to outnumber armies. A woman claimed by hell, not to become punished, but to become punishment.

Each time the flame fades, it is up to use to rekindle it. Reset the Doomsday Clock until it is time to recreate the world.
Do you sometimes get the feeling that the trees are keeping a secret from you? That they are standing, dark and tall, conspiring against you?
Trees are old. There were trees long before the first mammal crawled out of its hole. And they will continue to live for eons to come. They are the true masters of the earth — they give us food, they give us shelter, they give us the air we breath. We are cultivated by trees, our rotting carcasses meant to feed something that lifes many of our lifetimes.
Did your mother never warn you not to go into the woods when it is dark? Don't you listen to your primal instincts trying to keep you out of the trees? Man left the trees, and for a good reason.
Look up. The forest is spinning already.
- I'm only just starting to appreciate the sheer overkill that is LEO when pissed. Don't like that Proto-Deity currently creating a new world on top of ours? Just put a cosmic string through its core.
- If TAURUS is extratemporal like the rest, inflation must approach a level of mathematical insanity that makes handling the change really difficult. Something like Γ(𝑛), at least. UPDATE: Nevermind, the statistical value of a human live in turkey is something around 60 grand wtf.
- It's gotta be pain to maintain any form of air conditioning inside OPHIUCHUS. I like the idea of having everyone run around in beachwear to compensate for the temperatures.
- GEMINI should result in its fair share of PTSD and related anxieties. I wonder how often that results in friendly-fire.
