Usage
Use of item FW/LF is to be passed by alpha command for covert and reconnaissance operations. Only beta or alpha command personnel are allowed access to item LF. Personel using item LF should have at least two delta personnel on guard and an audio recorder present.To move subject FW, personnel must be wearing item LF and must make mental flexes of the brain. The following chart must be memorized to operate subject FW.1

Personnel wearing item LF are to speak their surroundings in detail into a recording device. This includes junction points, guards, containment cells, offices, the locations of elevators, cameras, etc. These recordings should be referenced for future operations and are to be considered a first-hand source.
When controlling subject FW it is highly prioritized to avoid enemy GOI personnel, airtight or auto-sealing rooms, locker rooms2, and animals capable of eating a common housefly.

The item is set into two pieces designated Lord of the Flies (LF) and Fly on the Wall (FW). The item "Lord of the Flies" is a crown with roman catholic accents and designs. Subject FW is an adult housefly. Subject FW does not show signs of aging or any need for food and water. Damage resistance has not yet been tested The item is unable to be externally damaged.
When worn, Item LF gives the wearer movement and use of the senses of subject FW. This includes the use of flight, sight, and hearing. This has proven useful in use for covert and reconnaissance operations due to its small size and its appearance as an average housefly. To date, the item pair has carried out 47 successful operations on multiple GOI bases.
Subject FW is to be kept in a clear container inside Base 4. Item LF should be stored nearby. When using item LF, the user is incapable to see their immediate surroundings, leaving them defenseless. Because of this, it is suggested that there be at least 2 delta personnel on guard.
Great caution must be taken to ensure that item FW does not fall into enemy GOI hands. This requires that personnel using the item LF be aware of the surroundings of subject FW. The recovery of subject FW is to be held as a priority if it is captured, eaten3, or put in an enclosed space capable of containing a housefly.

Something I've helpful over the years is that writing down my thoughts is pretty useful. I used to think that as long as you know your basic idea, free handing is the best way to go. But the amount of IQ needed to remember every little detail and personality. It's crazy.

you know, there aren't any friendly chaos GOI's. Which I can understand, teaming with a terrorist group isn't always the best look. But that got me thinking, what kind of GOI would team with the CI? definitely nobody like the foundation or GOC, who want to protect humanity and have semi-decent moral codes. The Serpents Hand doesn't really have any need to partner with the CI, but they don't have much of a reason to act hostile either. So that brought me to the other GOI that the CI mentioned (other than SEPIA, but I group that with the GOC), the church of the broken god. Now, the CotBD is an interesting goi to have. I know that's because the bell is supposed to tie into the church, but I want to focus more on their motives. The GOI page claims that the CI has never encountered the church. So is it possible for them to partner with the CI? Now, I don't know too much on the church other than the fact that they are trying to gather all the pieces of their "broken" god.
Now, if the CI somehow worked out a treaty with the church to hand over pieces of the god in turn for partial use of the parts, would that switch it from a GI-00 to a GI-01. compared to the serpent's hand, which doesn't have much to gain out of a pact, the church would receive as much of a benefit as the CI.
Now, I'm not saying I would want to start writing about the Church. But rather I'm interested in making a GI-01 GOI.
The other day I filled this out extensively for two hours. Then accidentally deleted everything I wrote. I'm still pretty bitter about it, but the only thing It's affecting is my ability to write it all down again. Simply because, whatever I write about it doesn't feel up to par with my previous expectations. I bet there is a psychological term for that.
Well, here I fucking go.
The GOI idea I had was for a group called the Devils Trumpet Society(DTS for short). In essence, It is a group of psychologists and psychiatrists who believe anomalous abilities can be obtained through cracking the secrets of the mind. anomalous individuals in the DTS are considered successful cases. Successful cases can be either DTS members or general subjects who gained anomalous abilities.
Now, the DTS has a certain agreement with the CI. In which the CI provides the DTS with resources to conduct experiments and studies, as well as room to test outside of the Ethics review committee. In turn, the DTS shares all of its findings with the CI and allows access to successful cases under restrictions. The DTS also is permitted to study the mindsets of CI personnel and sentient items, also with restrictions.
The main goal of the DTS is not to become anomalous or to use anomalous abilities. But rather to figure out how the mind works. The DTS is a smaller group made up of about 150 members with no real hierarchy. However, It does consider members with more studies as highly respected and the founder as one of the greatest minds in the world.
The founder of the DTS was a psychiatrist called Daniel Valentine, who achieved "omnipotence" through breaking apart his mind and putting it back together. This is mostly metaphorical and in actuality, he became anomalous through a mix of mental techniques and drugs. This anomalous "Trait" affected his ability of perception and allows him to affect other's perceptions of the world. by perception, I mean he can affect the basic gestalt laws as well as figure-ground, stroboscopic vision, perception of movement, color consistency, shape consistency, size, layering, & details. He cannot affect brightness consistency, independent thought, speech, or senses other than sight.
Now, this probably also isn't as good as my first draft. And it sure as hell isn't near as long or detailed. But it does hit all the basic points, so I'm going to go with this.
looking at this idea three days later, I'm starting to see the flaws in this idea. I'll probably either scrap it or use it after a heavy amount of revision. More likely the latter.
I've got writer's block so I can't think of anything. However I found this song recently, and I can't get it out of my head. But then I thought, "what if I tried to write something based on how this sounds?"
I dismissed the thought and went on with my day.
However, I've seen weird little hints from the universe telling me to write something about this song. Like some sort of acronym that spelled LEX. as well as someone around me mentioning the very obscure band that played the song. So far today, this has happened three times.
Now, it could be fate. It could be complete chance. Hell, It could some sort of being pulling strings.
All I know is that I'm going to attempt to write an article called lex. I'm not even sure what I want it to be.
Lex is Latin for the law. So it could be anything from a law-related item to a tale explaining the system the CI uses to hold people accountable.
If I did the law related item, would it be an anomalous person dealing with the law? Or would I make it some sort of scale? If I make a tale would it show a truly cruel person on trial or some sort of bureaucratic blackmail?
Too many questions for me to figure out today. I'll save it for Monday if corona doesn't get me.

Usage
To arm Shapeless knave, personnel should cast a shadow of the object the item requires using a standard operation flashlight. It is important to keep the entirety of the object in the light for the item to be armed. When armed, it is important to stay aware of floating objects. In battle, Shapeless knave works best when armed with tactile knives and various blades. Firearms are not recommended when arming Shapeless knave due to a low shot accuracy rate.
Shapeless knave has proven efficient in stealth operations and as a scout in standoffs. In operations, personnel working with the item should memorize the shadow identification chart shown in appendix A. This is necessary due to Shapeless knave's lack of vocal speech and to reduce noise in stealth missions.

Shapeless knave is the codename for a sentient shadow known as Erembour. The Item Is able to manipulate its shape as a shadow, and the definite size it can reach is still to be determined. Its personal preference is to appear as the shadow of a man wearing a hat. The eyes and a mouth are generally still showing, despite it not being possible on a normal shadow. The item is also able to shrink its size beyond the scope of the human eye, as well as merge with touching shadows. This has proven to be useful on recognizance missions. Of which, the item has carried out 7.
Shapeless knave is also able to manipulate objects by interacting with their shadows. This is done by using the shadow of the object as the object would normally be interacted with. That said, the whole of the object needs to be seen as a clear shadow. For example, half a knife's shadow is unable to be interacted with, where the full shadow is. The weight and force required to move an object does not play a roll in the manipulation of objects.
The item is, for the most part, unaffected by the brightness of a light. The exception being total darkness. When in total darkness, the Item takes on a corporeal form similar to a teenager. When in this form, The item is invisible to the naked eye. However, The item is able to interact normally with objects in this form, and it is theorized that the item can be harmed and killed when in this state.
The item originally came to the insurgency on 7/11/20██ seeking asylum. Evidence from GOC bugs has shown that there where once other creatures like the item. However, all other instances have been successfully terminated by the GOC. Since arrival, the item has shown devout loyalty to the CI and has proven versatile in both standoffs and stealth-ops.
The item's personality is similar to that of a young male and is fond of pulling pranks. Majority pranks are harmless. However, disciplinary measures should be enacted if item is caught. Shapeless knave tends to prefer to be called the name Erembour but is compliant with its codename. To date, the item has made 8 requests, 5 of which have been granted4.

"It was nice that you could join me today." Thomas Datura was walking down the halls of base 9. Next to him was his superior, Jason Rhodey. "think nothing of it. After all, there are only so many nights I can spend talking to the walls without seeming crazy." He let out a small laugh. "That is, if people didn't already think I was crazy"
"You know," Tom started. "Not many people know much about you. Or at least enough to think your crazy." Jason raised his eyes "Really? I always thought I had quite the presence around here." He glanced around before landing his eyes on a lone delta grunt. "Ah, lieutenant. I was having a conversation with my buddy here. And I was wondering if you could offer your opinion." The delta, surprised by the sudden approach, snapped into a salute. "You can drop the act, I don't care too much for military stance. I just was wondering what you could tell me about, well, me"
The sentry loosened his composture. He looked to be in his mid-twenties. but with his messy hair and glasses, he looked quite out of place. "Yes, Sir. You are Jason Rhodey, the current cell direct-" But he was cut off mid-sentence. "Oh, no no no. I mean what can you tell me about what people think of me. I am well aware of my rank."
"Uh, well, I. Uh, Sir-" Jason made a small quickening motion. "Come on, Spit it out. I don't care if it's negative, just tell me!" Tom could tell that if Jason was sitting, he would be on the edge of his seat. Tom jumped in. "Don't worry, he doesn't mean anything by it. He's just curious."
Erembour silently glid through the corridors of base 8. Today was a special day for him. The one day of the year where he had an excuse to do what he wanted. All of his traps were laid, and all he had left to do was to wait and see which one went first.
"Who the fuck would do something like that!" two researchers walked past him. "I mean leaving out candy is at least somewhat nice. Maybe they just didn't know what they were doing?" Erembour decided to follow. Looks he had caught two flys in his web already. "Oh, don't you dare say this was an accident. Whoever did that was well aware of it and deserves to burn in he-" The second researcher had stopped and was now checking his phone. "What, you get a call?" The researcher gave a little chuckle before letting out a full snort. "What's so funny?" The second researcher pointed his phone towards the first revealing a calendar app sporting the letters APR 1st. "Oh fuck. You're saying that was a,"
"Yeah, and I think I know who did it." The jig was up, no point in hiding now. Erembour slid out of hiding next to them. "Hey Knave" He gave a little wave from the wall. "Was that you back there in the breakroom?" He tipped his hat a little in response before the other researcher chimed in. "You know, of all the pranks you've pulled. That one was by far the worst fucking one yet."
"Skittles and M&Ms in the same bowl," he grimaced "I know you can't taste, but that is just pure evil."
One the other side of base 8, Awiti was still asleep. Erembour had paid her a visit earlier that day. But knowing how much she liked to sleep, he left a little gift and went on his way.
When Awiti woke up, she had one thought on her mind.
"What did he do."
She was well accustomed to his tricks from years before. One year he contaminated the bases water supplies with red dye. Another year he hooked up the speakers to play nothing but Rick Astley for three hours straight. This year he had hinted at outdoing every other April fools combined.
She scouted her room, looking for any trace he had been there. He knew her, as well as her weaknesses. She remembered one time he managed to coat the majority of her belongings in catnip. Something she didn't even realize until she had been in her room for a day straight.
There were no obvious signs that he had tampered with anything in her room. So she gave a little 'all clear' to herself and decided to head to breakfast. She pushed the button for the door to her room.
The airtight doors gave a little chug before releasing a blast of water that swept Awiti off her feet. "FU-" But she couldn't even get out a curse before another wave water knocked her under.
When the water stopped it was around knee height all throughout her room. Her bed, her books, her personal belongings, and she, were all soaked. "Someone is going to die," she said in a cold tone.
Then she noticed the smell.
Erembour could her shouts halfway between hissing and yelping. One of the hardest parts of his preparation was managing to hook up the septic tank to fill the hall outside of her room. He would probably have to apologize with some more catnip. but hearing her now would be worth it.
He passed by the shooting range, where he had managed to replace all of the targets with cardboard cutouts of celebrities. He was surprised he was even able to get a life-sized Chris Pratt from his position. But given enough cardboard boxes and access to a printer, he was able to make do.
A few guards rushed out. Two were holding various cutouts while the other one had his face pushed into a walkie talkie. "Yes sir, we got most of them, but you said there were two daft punk ones? … Yeah, no, we could only find the gold one. … I mean we found all of them but that- … yes, we did get Leonardo DiCaprio. He was the one you shot, right? … No, I don't think we found a Johnny Depp one." Erembour Smiled.
An announcement came up on the loudspeaker. "Attention all personnel, the following sections of the facility are off-limits until further notice. Section B-2.4 (Awiti's hall), Bathrooms between Section B and Section D (He removed all the stall dividers), Shooting range B, and Cargo Bay 5. Also, the item Shapeless Knave should be taken into custody if seen."
He was probably going to have to spend a few weeks in solitary for this. But this time only came once a year, he had to make the most of it. He slid down the halls to the cargo bay. There he basked in his masterpiece.
Inside were kept 2-ton boxes of various anomalous materials. They now stood stacked in the middle of the room, spraypainted a multitude of colors. The speakers blared a glorious tune as he began to climb the tower. They would need cranes to take down his monolith.
His Tetris monument, his creme de la creme.
He didn't care if they locked him up. Hell, they could throw him to the dogs and he could care less. But if he was going to die young, he would be the person to die knowing they built a Tetris tower out of billion-dollar weapons. He almost died being the child who hid, never doing anything. But now look at him, standing above it all.

In base 8, many things are kept.
A clockwork spider, An Isuzu speed demon, A girl with the reflexes of a panther.
But among all of the clutter, there is a child. Or rather, a shadow of a child.
Erembour slid down the many halls of base eight. He passed numerous scientists and guards. Many he knew by name. Despite not being able to greet them aloud, he sill tried to wave at most. Sometimes he would be greeted with smiles and warm words. Other times it felt like a lost cause. Today was the latter.
It was always an unpleasant experience, being ignored. Reminding Eremour of… unpleasant times. So He went looking for a friend.
Awati had been lounging around her room for the past hour. She had read most of her books, and the shooting range wasn't sparking its usual joy. So she took extra notice when she saw the shadow of a small cat slipped in. "Erembour," She said the name aloud. She was never sure how a creature that couldn't speak could have a spoken name. But none the less, he was nice to have around.
Upon hearing his name called, Erembour shifted back into his normal form. The shadow of a tall man wearing a hat now stood before Awati. It would have looked rather realistic if it wasn't for the eyes, which were cutouts of perfect circles, and the mouth, which looked as if the Cheshire cat himself left behind a smile. "Oh, you have no clue I've been," Awati said with a smile. Erembour morphed into a picture of a burger with chips. "Yeah, I can eat. What's the mess hall got in today?" She was answered by a large picture of a chicken leg and a pair of wings.
"You know what I love about modern society?" A question mark appeared above the head of the man projected on the wall. They were now sitting in the cafeteria as close to the edge as possible. "Buffalo sauce! The stuff's amazing. It's a perfect balance between spice and flavor." A small cartoon tear appeared on the shadow's eye. "Oh, sorry. I forgot you can't eat." A small moment of silence passed. "So what you want to do now?"
The shadow on the wall shrugged before gesturing back at her. "Well, I wouldn't be asking you if I had something in mind." She looked around." You know what this place needs?" She pointed at an intercom speaker. "Music! This place is too quiet most of the time." She took a sip from her glass. "And when it's not quiet, it's usually a bad sign."
An exclamation mark appeared over the shadows head. "What? You think of something?" He beckoned her to come and started towards the doors.
One five minute walk later, they were standing in front of a small room. "Oh, so this is where they keep you cooped up?" she opened the door to, what seemed like, a broom closet souped-up with a fancy looking light fixture. "I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this is not it." The room itself was only about two by two meters. From the ceiling, disks hung by twine cast both shadows and sparkles. On the floor was an old CD boombox that looked like it just survived the 90s.
"Damn, that thing must be older than me." she gave it a little nudge with her foot. "what cd's have you got?"
As she said it, multiple pictures hinting at bands appeared on the wall. One showed a pair of robots, another a man with a lightning bolt through his face, and another depicting a knife in a cake. "Right, I don't know any bands. I guess you'll have to enlighten me."
