For many years, Rannal's family ruled the Kingdom of Vilemark, until one day he had a vision of the old gods, and began to convert. The rest, as they say, is history, but all that I know of it is what I've read in the book of the old gods.
According to this, the king Rannal was the last of the old gods' chosen among the race of Vilemark. He was to protect the kingdom and lead the last battle against the demons of Arin, to save the world. It was, according to the book, the world's biggest story. No wonder that the book is a hefty one.
According to the book, many have tried to usurp Rannal's role, but none has been successful. Only the kings of this Kingdom have the right to wield the Excalibur, and in the end, it was Rannal himself.
I believe that when I became the king of the Kingdom of Arin, I got this sword from Lord Rannal. It must've been lost for a very long time, as it's not like we have a history of lost weapons.
I have to admit, even as the king, that I'm not good with it. I'm scared to put it down. To me, it seems like the weapon might come back to life just by looking at it. But it's not like I'm not brave. I'm gonna try my best to use this as a tool for good.
